Acceptable Use Policy

Effective June 2026 · Doc Norrie Legacy Holdings, LLC

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all email and text messaging (SMS/MMS and WhatsApp) sent through Rainmail, operated by Doc Norrie Legacy Holdings, LLC. Our sending reputation is shared and valuable, so we enforce these rules strictly and may act immediately on clear abuse. Using Rainmail means you agree to this AUP.

1. Permission-based sending only

You may only email people who have given you permission to contact them — customers, users, or contacts who opted in. You are responsible for honoring opt-out/unsubscribe requests promptly and for complying with anti-spam laws that apply to you and your recipients, including the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act, Canada’s CASL, and the EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy rules.

2. Prohibited content & uses

You may not use Rainmail to send: unsolicited bulk email (spam); phishing, fraud, scams, or deceptive "from"/subject lines; malware or malicious links; content that is illegal, that infringes others’ rights, or that harasses or threatens; or anything promoting violence, exploitation, or hate. You may not use purchased, scraped, harvested, or rented lists.

3. Text messaging (SMS/MMS) & WhatsApp — carrier rules

Messaging through Rainmail is application-to-person (A2P) traffic governed by U.S. carrier requirements, the CTIA Messaging Principles & Best Practices, the TCPA, and — for WhatsApp — Meta’s Business Messaging policies. You must:

Carriers may block, filter, or fine non-compliant traffic. Any carrier fees or penalties caused by your violation are your responsibility, and we may suspend messaging immediately to protect our routes and other customers.

4. List hygiene & deliverability

You must keep bounce and spam-complaint rates low. We continuously monitor these signals. Senders that threaten the deliverability of our shared infrastructure may be rate-limited, moved to an isolated sending lane, paused, or suspended — automatically and without notice in clear cases.

5. Authentication & identity

You must send only from domains you control and have verified (SPF/DKIM/DMARC). Impersonating another person or business, or sending "as" a domain you do not own, is prohibited and technically blocked.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations, remove content, throttle or suspend sending, and terminate accounts. We may report illegal activity to authorities. Report abuse to abuse@getrainmail.com.

7. Data processing

When you send through Rainmail, you are the data controller for your recipient data and Rainmail acts as your data processor: we process recipient information only to deliver your mail and operate the service, on your instructions. We do not sell recipient data and do not read or mine the contents of customer mailboxes. Business customers who need a signed Data Processing Agreement (DPA) may request one at support@getrainmail.com.
